Troubleshooting Tips:

  1. If a computer behaves erratically, reboot the system. This can correct most of the problems.
  2. If you cannot log on to BME network on a computer, check if the Ethernet connection on the computer is working. If not, there is a Ethernet connection problem.
  3. Report Ethernet connection problems in HSC to 4-HELP.
  4. Report Ethernet connection problems on west campus to Client Support at 2-9800.
  5. Report the problems on computers (BMExxx), printers and scanners in the computer labs to system administrator.

Ethernet Connection:

Ethernet jack is wider than a phone jack and usually with a red tag. A network switch can increase the number of Ethernet ports. If there is no such jack in the room, a new jack should be installed. After the installation, the jack needs to be activated.

To activate a new Ethernet jack, please

  • Email to the system administrator if the room is in HSC.
  • Call 2-9800 if the room is on west campus.
